Default Cardio or off ice specific excersise?

So ive decided that in the new year im going to dedicate some time to training. I have been doing the butterfly widening stretches about 3 times a week. I plan to up that to about 5.
I can only dedicate max 3 days a week and about a 1/2 hour per day to excersize so i think i have to pick one of these training routines.
My options are get a treadmill and build up my cardio, which would be a good thing as i can get pretty exhausted after some hard action in my end.
But will that help my tecinique much, and what would be of better benefit?
    Looking for advice.
    Thanks

Building your cardio will keep you fresher, longer. And since you won't be tired so quickly, you'll be able to make better decisions, faster. Remember to add in some stretching too.

If you run, incline the treadmill at the maximum. Running on a treadmill will not give you the endurance you need for be a goalie. You need to work your thigh.

Personnaly, I do 20 minutes of spinning bike will a lot of load. It work well, I'm never out of breath.

    Stepmaster is very good too.

You only laid out on routine. :)

Cardio is best, sprint training is also very good for quick reaction muscles. Nothing wrong with a little weight training as well, just don't go over board with size.

Well, start now. No reason to wait until January. Map out a trail in your neighborhood and jog that. I don't know if your neighborhood is urban, high-crime or unjoggable.

Sorry, i actually hate excersize! Im doing this to get better and im going to enjoy the last of my beer drinking, fat ass lifestyle before getting healthy.
I also hate being outdoors. If its too cold, too wet, too hot or anything but beautiful blue skies and perfect temp im not going out there.
Hey, at least im not making excuses!

Why not both? If you do a circuit training system, you should elevate your heart enough for an interval cardio work out as well as increasing muscle mass and memory with sport specific movements.

Maria Mountain actually has a video on this very topic. I think its title something like "top 5 goalie exercises", or something to that nature.

I have been looking at Maria's video training package for goalies. Not the pro pack, but the amature off ice training pack. Cant remember what she calls it. Wasnt sure if this would give me the cardio workout i think im going to need. I also have about 20lbs i could do without. As i said i cant do both.

Well said SnowDragon - I agree - that article you linked to is one that I would suggest as well - a great place to start.
    Cheers,
