This is true of any sport really with a need for hand eye coordination. I did the same thing before I played tennis and it worked like a charm.

If you want a surefire way to improve your glove save skill on shots, simply pick up a baseball glove (or your goalie glove) and a baseball and get outside and play some catch!
My son is a high school pitcher and he and I often get out in the backyard and do some training. He works his pitching in and I get to improve my glove save skill.
By doing this you GREATLY improve your instinctive reaction and technique in catching an object screaming towards you. I always notice that if I have not played catch for a while my glove saves deteriorate. Try it!

I am currently in the market for a Baseball rebound net system. This way i can throw balls (maybe pucks) at different angles to work on reaction and hand eye coordination.

Just make sure you don't start the habit of reaching across your body to make glove saves! Make blocker saves on the blocker side, and keep glove saves to the glove side.
Good point rfleming!
Would it be creepy if I go to a park with full gear asking people if they want to play catch with me? :)
I disagree, there is no reason to not learn to catch a puck or ball across your body. What is important is recognizing the object, and tracking it all the way into your glove. I often work with goalies using tennis balls, and isolating one hand at a time, throwing and catching with that hand only, then switching to the other hand.
I ofter will reach across my body to catch a puck that is going to miss the net, but i wouldnt do it with an actual shot on net.
Have you ever had a dream that you were so sure was real? What if you could not wake up from that dream, how would you tell the difference between the real world and the dream?
I take that as an opportunity to work on directing the puck with my blocker.
Yes but you dont get a whistle that way.
