I put my pads on sitting on the bench. Betchya I can put my pads on just as fast as you, and last I checked Im not retarded.

I think I need bigger pants to do the tucking in thing. totally want to try it out, but I also dont have/wear suspenders.

I usually lay my pads down and do the toe ties...I raise them up while sitting on the bench and do my knee locks first then do the skate strap. After that I do the other straps up. I haven't put my pads on with them laying down since I was about 10-11 yrs old when I had to get my dad to help me put them on...lol.

I've tried the tuck thing as well many moons ago and it wasn't for me at all. I like the feel of being able to move more freely not tucked. I've also found that shots off the chesty get absorbed much better when not tucked in as well...just me though I guess.

I did loop the top string for the first time and I like the way it held my chesty down especially when I sprawl. I also kneel on my pads to put them on..:)
