I'm with Hildy on this, with older/well developed goalies I will normally work with whatever glove position they are comfortable with. However, if a goalie is looking to adjust or completely blow up their glove positioning, I will suggest and coach a low technique.

Its funny i actually spent some time thinking about this during the afternoon. I dont see a baseball catcher being a good analogy to what a goalie does. Most balls are thrown at you with the intention of catching it. Therefore they will generally be comming high or above the midline. Also in baseball you are always trying to catch the ball, where as a goalie going down in the butterflys first objective is to block the puck from going in the net. If you can catch it great, but the butterfly position is a blocking position and your trying to block as much of the net as possible.
    Thats just my thinking anyway.

Hard to assess stance and movement without video. It looks like some of the shots taken are in motion to a butterfly position. That said I'd keep mind on holes 6 and 7.

On another note, how do you like your Bauer skates? Ive heard about the vertexx part breaking down. How long have you had them, and have you noticed better movements around the crease because of them?

Ive always worn Bauer skates, as a player all i ever wore was Bauer 7000's. Always felt good to me. As a goalie i have only worn 2 pairs of skates. 1st ones were an old used cheap set. Cant remember what they were. And my Bauer One80's. These have been the most comfortable skate i have ever worn. I love them!
The vertex cowl does allow you to get a lower stance and push without many slippouts. One of mine shows a slight amount of wear, but nothing major. Ive had them for prob close to 2 years. Lots of guys here seem to hate the new Bauer skates, but what ive noticed is that some peoples feet fit certtain skates better than others. Plus for me anyway i swear by Bauer cause thats all i have ever worn, but they feel good so why would i change.

Ignoring my lack of skill as a new goalie, but putting some analysis into the glove position:
    Shot is coming either low/mid/high.
    Glove takes time to move.
Goalie wants to be making the smallest adjustment possible and still make the save.

Makes sense for the glove to be in the middle if you think you're going to have the opportunity to react.
Glove med --> low or high is a small adjustment.
Glove low --> high is a big adjustment, leaving a chance for you to get beat there.

I think this changes if you don't think you can react, then you just want to cover the high probability areas and have it hit you ( glove probably low)
