Yeah, that's true, but very much a rarity.

not really. As much as I hate Luongo, this is one thing he does well and quite often. It isn't easily recognizable though, because you have guys like Jim Hughson yelling through the screen "Huge rebound by Luongo" but they dont pay attention to where it goes and who picks it up.

We're talking about users on this site and how they can control rebounds, not NHL stars.

Dont need to be a star to be able to. Im sure some of the users can. I said it was more advanced, but I didn't realize it was so advanced that it wasn't worth talking about.

I agree with Hildy, directing rebounds is active, not passive. Using a kicking motion is a valid technique, that while advanced is viable for beer-leaguers. My biggest piece of advice is to continue the action of the save through the point of contact. The save doesn't end when the puck hits your pads, continue the action of stopping the puck until the puck is where you want it, whether that is in your glove or on your defenseman's stick.

I kick rebounds several times a game, occasionally sending them all the way out of the zone. That is more of a product of learning to play back when the word butterfly meant a pretty little insect though.

LOL...in my time, it was called "flopping" and tenders werent supposed to do that unless they were Glen Hall or Tony Esposito. Things change, dont they?

I'll kick a puck out if there is a trailer on the play. The puck goes whizzing right past them and they're caught while my guys take off the other way.
