which pads?

This is a discussion on which pads? within the Roller Goalie forums, part of the Equipment Chat category; I'm looking to buy a set of either used Vaughn 7400 or new Itech 7.8 X-wing. I know the 7400's ...

    Default which pads?

I'm looking to buy a set of either used Vaughn 7400 or new Itech 7.8 X-wing. I know the 7400's are better overall; but which pad is better on sport court? does one "stick" more than the next?

dont know if any pad "sticks" more that the other on sport court, pretty sure they all stick pretty much the same.

Too bad you east coast I am selling my 7.8's very soon and they have a slide plate mod for them for playing inline on sport court, I think shipping would be costly from where I am to you.

    Default Battram Roller Hockey Pads

Here are my latest Roller Hockey pads from Battram. They line the insides with lexan slide plates. Although my pads aren't normally low enough to slide while standing but in the butterfly it's definitely helpful. I like the old school leather look. Next a vintage mask, for pickup anyway...

I use rbk 5k and love them I was actually looking for a new pair but they don't make them because of the width decrease in the nhl. I also wear a smaller size pad then I would on ice, allows me to move around quicker since I cant butterfly slide or anything

I've seen guys apoxy their landing gear to make a hard, smooth surface for sliding. I've also seen homemade plastic plates similar to what Battram does.
