    Default Inline Goalie Gear

    Hey all.

Was wondering if anyone here has used Tour goalie gear before. Have an chance to buy some new gear cheap and was looking for feedback. While I would love some Vaughn or RBK stuff its a bit hard since most places charge an arm and a leg for it and with freight cost to Australia making me pay half as much again just for shipping its currently not viable nor within budget.

Looking at Inline skates and a complete Pad, Glove and Blocker combo as I am currently using 2nd hand Bauer Leg and a set of Heaton Helite IV glove and blocker.

Has anyone had any dealings with Tour and also Getting stuff shipped out? I am a little worried as I wear an AUS size 8 shoe and not sure if I should order online for a pair of skates but dont have much of an option as no store anywhere here sells it .

I used Tour redline 5000 skates and they were great, I ordered them from an online store in California and used the sizing guide they provided, when i was talking to the guy he said if they dont fit send them back for another size up or down and they will ship back for free. When they arrived I tried them on and the fit was great and they were pretty comfy with good protection. The other gear they sell I have no idea about but the skates were great and cost effective.

I will 2nd the comment about tour skates. Had a pair of player skates I bought maybe 8-ish years ago, liked everything about them. Just picked up the tour code carbon gx goal skates, havent used them yet but the fit and finish is great.

As for gear, never used anything but their skates. If for inline only, im sure they'll work great, but the parts i've seen and felt, i'd never use for ice. To be fair, I dont recall which line-ups i've seen, so maybe their stuff marketed for ice is better then what I saw.

I've used Tour gear before. I was a roller goalie for all of my youth. Just switched to ice (and learned to play butterfly) upon moving to the Northeast.

I've used their skates when I played defense. Not too bad.

I used their leg pads when I played goalie. At the time, I thought they were fine. Great, in fact, but playing roller in Virginia limited my exposure to different brands and degrees of quality. They performed well enough. I was considered a decent goalie, but they were not designed for butterfly. I was playing late-70s-style (and without any formal training, I was just trying to stop pucks).

I can say from experience that unless you get a high grade pad from them, you'll do just fine for roller, but don't expect a pad built for butterfly. They'll hold up decently on sport court, but not excellently. The ones I had did not break down very quickly, so the rebounds were long.
They're not great, but they'll get you started.

Also, I'm getting ready to upgrade my pads, and looking to unload a set of RBK PIs wht, blk, red. The actual size isn't on them, but I'm 5'11" and they fit fine. Puck marks only. PM me if interested.

Thanks guys , Will be placing an order for some Carbon X or redline 5000 sometime next week . Pads and the rest can wait I think until after a little while , Might be able to source some better options or actually spend time researching what would be better for me on the skate rink. Still love those Vaughns though.

When I get out of work i'll have a picture review of the carbon gx's. Haven't skated on them yet (michigan, weather not helping) so I can only speak of their build quality, how well they feel on my feet and skate in my living room. But, I took some comparison pics of them with my ice goal skates. At any rate, it'll give you a much better look at them then the stock online pics.

Be up a little over 12 hours from now.

When it comes to roller I swear by Mission. Their fairly new goalie skate is awesome and Mission makes excellent roller goalie gear. Actually Mission pads/blocker/catcher was the first set of goalie gear I bought. I loved it, super light with fabric landing gear on the pads so sliding on sport court was super easy.

I transitioned from Roller to Ice, then Ice to Roller, for the last transition I had an Bauer RX8 Leg Pads, and an RX10 Gloves, it works pretty fine, and Bauer owns Mission, I'm pretty sure the share some knowledge about pads design/construction, but it was stolen
