The post was Alex's best friend. You look really solid in there, it seems the only time you get beat is a perfect shot upstairs or off a rebound

Honestly you look like a bit different of a goalie in this lasted vid. It's like the really smooth footwork has became a tad bit sloppy. It's still moving fast, but you're doing a ton of little tiny c-cuts or something of that sort in order to move back to your crease. You seem to be expending a LOT of energy doing this, and it's putting you slightly out of position. At 0:21 it's the most evident: in order to move to your right you made this c-cut that totally put your left leg at a weird angle and actually made you lead backwards with your butt.
Not that I necessarily always do it the "right" way, but contrast it with . I tend to take a more linear approach to my footwork.
Nice poke check into the slot, BTW. I always seem to miss and get scored on, ugh.
I have a question about your go pro? Does it take good still photos? My digital camera died and I want to get one of these but need to convince my wife that it would be a good purchase an that it would take good photos.
Yeah I see what youre saying. Not sure what it was that session I looked a bit sloppier but was playing better. The ice on that end was total slush the entire session so maybe that had something to do with it? Your vids look awesome. Looks like you have a slightly better mounting setup too. To answer about the still camera it is quite good but all wide-angle all the time might not be the best replacement.
I know what you mean about the slush.. when it's all slush it makes me try to dig in a bit more, too, and that could have been the reason you felt you had to do tiny c-cuts rather than simply pushing over. I noticed a couple other times where you'd try to push off and you'd slip a bit.. definitely due to the sloppy ice.
I appreciate the kind words about the videos. I did it as close to what I figured you did: used the vented helmet strap to tighten it around the netting directly behind the center post. Then I took the other side and did the same, then tightened it so it was straight. Using the extension arm I made the camera sit right at about the center of the net and angled it out so that it wasn't touching the center post. I appreciate your suggestions and tips.. it's worked out beautifully for me!
Recorded an actual game tonight. My second time filling in with these guys and second win.
Some routine stuff but some good saves later and a good line by the ref at the end.
Forgot my bauer compression gear so thats why the bare legs, Jesus I hate playing like that.

My fall league has me playing at the UofM arena quite a bit. Here's my last game, too many rebounds and bad stick discipline while changing directions but overall not a bad game.
LOVE that move at 3:50
what do you call that?
Nice video as always, man! You're sometimes getting the "floppy legs syndrome" that leads to the "leading with your butt" thing, but otherwise your sliding was very fluid, as usual. One other thing is that you seem to go down on every single shot, while there were a couple times you perhaps could have stayed up and made the save, putting yourself into better position for any rebounds. Try staying up a tad bit more rather than going down, making the save, and reacting to the rebound.
And at 3:50 that looked like Johan Hedberg's pregame/preperiod warm-up, hahaha.
