Okay, needing critiques, but here's what I see:
Goal 1: When going into the butterfly I still tend to bring my glove up instead of bringing it down to the top of my pad, leaving a hole near my elbow for the puck to sneak through.
Goal 2: When going into the butterfly, I don't keep my stick blade in front of me. I let it slide to my left side opening the five hole before my knees get to the ice.
Clip 3: luck Luck LUCK!![]()

goal 1: you weren't centered on the puck. only reason it went in. if u where centered it woulda hit you in the chest.
goal 2: your exactly right, your stick moved. also when you go into butterfly don't just drop on your butt. get over your knees a little on your toes, and drive your knees into the ice, also if you need to put a LITTLE and i emphasize LITTLE weight on your stick to keep it less adept to move.
clip 3: they dropped the ball on that one![]()
Thanks! Angles are still a huge aspect that I'm working on. I'm still learning the visual cues in the two rinks here, but feel like there has been some improvement. The stick moving I hope will improve with my new sticks. The paddle is 2 inches longer, and from messing around at home with them, I seem to push them out in front of me better than my old stick that I push to my glove side. I think that's because I don't have to have my blocker down as far to keep the blade on the ice. The last clip I think I almost dropped a ball too haha! I landed funny or something and it knocked the breathe out of me for a few seconds. I probably should have tried a strong butterfly slide across than a dive shouldn't I have? Just incase he did get the shot off, and I needed to control a rebound.
well yea, while a bfly slide is ideal, its not always the best choice for a situation, i'm not sure if you woulda got over there in time had he not missed the pass and one t'd it with your dive, but if you can get over there with a bfly save, thats perfect form and makes saves alot easier since he'd have hit u in the chest or pads.
1. I see that when you make a stand-up save, you still drift back into the goal. If you get a ref that delays on blowing the whistle while you drift back, you could score on yourself.
2. Stick needs to be out front, you tend to pull or push it and on it's heal leaving that gap. I have learned to use my stick to make the save and my pads are the back-up. You can control your rebounds better with you stick than your pads.
3. Noticed that when you cover the puck with your catch, your stick in not there to protect your glove. Put the stick in front so that attacking players can't dig underneath or poke the puck out.
You're doing fine, you are playing the hardest position in ice hockey!
