So I finally strapped on the pads to see what our better halves go through. I've played about 10 pickup games now, and it's truly a blast.
This game was low/beginner level - mostly D/E level. My camera cut off with about 30 mins left in our session, which sucks because I made a really sweet breakaway save later on.
I've found it interesting to see how my game has changed over the past 2 months. I used to get dinged in the mask 4-5 times per game. I figured it was simply a case of going down too early. Lo and behold, I've been staying on my feet much longer, and the problem seems to have disappeared.
I'm using a Contour1080 for my vids. For this, I had it tied to the mesh at the top of the net, about halfway back. The results were somewhat unsatisfactory, as you can't see enough of the play down low. I'm going to try and tie it further back next time with a little bit of slack so it hangs down a bit more. I'm considering changing the aspect ratio, but I'll need another memory card for that.

when you go into butterfly just don't drop drive your knees into the ground.
Keep your glove side elbow tight to your ribs. Other than that, your instincts look good. Your butterfly will widen over time.
