First game of the winter season. The game ended in a 0-0 tie.
It took me too much time to set up the camera that I forgot to scrape my crease, so I was a little off balance from the slipperyness during warmup.

no, I mounted it to the back of the net. Other people have used the vented helmet strap, but I used the roll bar mount and just pulled some net in front of the centre post and put the roll bar mount through that. It was tight enough that it didn't move very much.
Please, critique away!
1. Your footwork and transitioning could be more efficient. You're doing the "leading with your butt" thing where you aren't making full use of being able to simply shuffle while still staying square to the shot. Instead, by leading with your butt and making very "angled" movements with your skates, it's putting you out of position when you're moving.
2. You keep getting up on the wrong knee. Make sure when you're getting up that the knee opposite of the side to which you're going gets up first. If you're going to your left, then you'll turn slightly to your left, bring your right knee up, push, and then bring your left knee up, putting you into position very quickly.
3. You keep your upper body up very well while in the butterfly, keeping your body big and able to get to any puck shot at you.
4. Watch your glove hand positioning when you're sliding and getting up.. it often goes behind your pants, which isn't a good place if you happen to get a quick, surprising shot.
5. You overslide a lot, even when the ice got more cloppy and snowy. Gotta work on knowing when and where to stop your slides.
thx for the input.
I did notice the 'leading with the butt' thing. 3:29 it's really obvious. it's a bad habit that I need to work on getting rid of.
I'm not sure I see the wrong knee thing. Can you give an example?
Again, thanks for the comments.
At 5:30 there's a perfect example. You're getting up on your left knee when you should get up on your right. Interestingly, it's not that you always do it wrong, but rather that you're inconsistent about it. Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't.
I see. I think the difference was there was no threat after the puck went to the corner, so I didn't need a quick movement to the side and I just stood up, then went about moving. BUT, it's probably best to do just in case, so thanks for pointing it out.
are you very tall? if not you play very tall. your shoulders and hips look very good. one thing i would say is i agree with syn, you could have more efficient movements.
ya, I'm 6'2".
